Napoli have reportedly joined AC Milan in the race to sign Arsenal defender, Jakub Kiwior ahead of the January transfer window.
the 23-year-old Polish centre back made the transfer to the Premier League by joining the Gunners from Spezia in January for an estimated €25 million following his emergence in Liguria, Before moving to England, he was among the most promising young defenders in Serie A.
Under Mikel Arteta, Kiwior has had difficulty finding regular playing time in North London. In just 13 games this season, he has played 565 minutes, mostly as a backup to Gabriel and William Saliba.
According to Il Mattino via TMW as cited by Football Italia, Napoli want to sign Kiwior in January, but they need to work out a permanent deal with Arsenal, who aren’t interested in a loan. It might only take €25 million to get the Pole to sign.
Things could get heated when the January transfer window opens in a few weeks because Milan are also interested in the 23-year-old.
Aston Villa defender, Clement Lenglet, who is an alternative target for Napoli may choose to play in Serie A instead of the Premier League because of his lack of playing time in England while on loan.

Earlier this year, Arteta waxed lyrical about Kiwior following his decent display after his signing.
“He looked ready and fresh. He looked really determined. Has been getting better and better every single day, not only in training but with his interaction and his language.
“He’s more settled and he’s a player that I really like, that’s why I signed him. He has the potential at his age to be great.”
