Former Manchester United defender and Sky Sports pundit, Gary Neville has reportedly backed Arsenal to win the 2023/24 Premier League title after Manchester City lost their game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The weekend saw the Gunners defeat Bournemouth 4-0, while City struggled mightily in a shocking 2-1 loss to Wolves at the Molineux. As a result, there is now just one point separating the two teams.
While Neville did underline that it was going to be extremely tight and the Gunners were not expected to run away with it. He seems to have high hopes for Arsenal this season. Suggesting they may be the genuine contender if they can keep everyone fit.
However, the pundit claimed that City looked “human” against Wolves, which may be an indication of how difficult it will be for the team to sustain the extraordinary consistency that allowed them to win the treble last season.
What Did Neville Say About Arsenal Chances Of Winning The EPL Title?
“I’ve got Arsenal to win the league this year,” Neville said on his podcast, as quoted by the Metro.
“That post-treble feeling, what it would have taken out of those City players and staff would have been enormous.
“They could easily win the league this season and obviously it is just one game, but little results like that give the other teams encouragement.
“We know City have lost games in the past and gone on long winning runs so we can’t write them off but it will give a lot of encouragement to Arsenal.

“Against Newcastle, it was a serious team that Pep Guardiola took up there and at Wolves, they’re conceding a goal or two, they’re going behind in games and they look human.
“It will be interesting. If Arsenal keep their players fit, they’ve got a great chance this season.”
