Neville Pinpoints £250M Problem For Liverpool Ahead Of Next Season

Manchester United legend, Gary Neville has reportedly stated that Liverpool will be plunged into a £250 million hole if they are unable to hold onto Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Premier League leaders top the standings by 12 points and are probably on their way to winning the league title for the second time since 2020.

But throughout the season, a significant cloud has been thrown by the uncertain future of their three biggest talents. With their individual fates still up in the air, all three players’ contracts expire at the end of the summer.

Even worse, earlier this week, rumors circulated that Alexander-Arnold had decided to leave his boyhood club and sign with Real Madrid.

It appears more likely that the England international will play at the Bernabeu next season alongside fellow countryman Jude Bellingham.

According to The Mirror, the Red Devils icon stated on Thursday’s Stick To Football podcast, which is sponsored by Sky Bet, that the Merseyside team would not have the money to replace their three superstars if they all left.

“At the end of the season, it will leave Liverpool a huge hole if those three players [Virgil van Dijk, Mo Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold] leave on a free,” Neville said.

“They won’t have the money to replace them, and you could argue there is a quarter of a billion pounds in those three.

“You’re talking about one of the best strikers in Europe, one of the best centre-halves in Europe and one of the best right-backs in Europe.”
