New arrivals please Radford

Hull FC head coach Lee Radford has been pleased with what he has seen so far from their off-season additions. The Super League outfit started their pre-season campaign a fortnight ago and Radford has been casting an eye over the fresh faces. Adam Swift, Jordan Johnstone and Joe Cator have been added to the mix as The Airlie Birds attempt to improve on last season’s 11th place finish. Radford told the club’s official website: “In terms of their physical fitness, they have been top draw around the place. “Eldon Myers has come to us on trial as a personal trainer from the military so you expect him to be a fit bloke, and he certainly is. “On Adam Swift too, he’s been right up there too – speaking to some of the guys in the Saints camp too, they told me he was one of the fittest blokes in their squad so I’m not surprised by how well he has been performing. “Joe Cator and Jordan Johnstone has been fantastic as well with their energy around the place.” Hull FC also confirmed they will take on Halifax and Batley in pre-season friendlies in January and Radford is excited to see his men in action once again. He added: “Those games will give us a chance to piece parts of our game together that we will have been working on for two months. “Actually seeing it live at full competitive speed will let us know where we are at. They’re stepping stone games to make sure you hit round one running.”
