Newcastle United have reportedly seek for an information regarding the situation of Juventus centre-back Federico Gatti.
Due to injuries to Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles, the Magpies are eager to add at least one more center-back to their roster. So far in this summer, they added Lloyd Kelly on a free transfer.
The club are looking through a number of profiles and investigating a number of defenders across Europe.
According to Calciomercato.it as reported by Inside Futbol, Gatti has become a possible target for the northeast outfit during the current transfer window.
The report added that Newcastle have made an inquiry for the Juventus defender this summer.
The Magpies have enquired about the defender and the potential steps involved in closing a deal to sign him in this transfer window.
Nevertheless, nothing more substantial than a simple inquiry has been discussed. And Newcastle have not held any formal negotiations to attempt to sign Gatti.
Whether Newcastle choose to submit a serious offer for the Italian defender at some point this summer is still to be seen.
