Newcastle United have reportedly approached Sporting Lisbon for the services of Ousmane Diomande ahead of a potential move.
According to A Bola as claimed by Hard Tackle, Newcastle are eager to have Diomande join their team. Due to his outstanding plays, the 20-year-old centre back has gained a lot of recognition. And several elite clubs are vying for his services. In an attempt to get ahead of the opposition, the Magpies have already asked about his availability.
After signing for Sporting during the 2023 winter window, Diomande hasn’t looked back. The 20-year-old has made a name for himself in the Portuguese club as a pillar of the team.
Since the beginning, he has performed consistently for them, which has made him a target for several elite clubs.
Newcastle hope Sporting CP will be amenable to negotiations because they believe the €80 million price tag is a little excessive. However, the valuation is unlikely to decrease anytime soon given the involvement of Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal.
Having scouted him in the past, all three clubs are willing to wager on him because they think he is a great prospect. There are currently just three excellent center backs in Arsenal’s roster, and they hope to add more this summer.

Thiago Silva is expected to be moving after the season, so Chelsea are searching for a long-term replacement.
Liverpool on the other hand need a player who can compete with the current crop of defenders for a spot in the starting lineup. Even though they do have plenty of players at the back, recently, the backline has not been solid.
