Newcastle Set To Land Second Summer Acquisition Following £28M Deal

Newcastle United are reportedly set to sign Fulham defender, Tosin Adarabioyo on free transfer when the summer transfer window opens.

Adarabioyo started the previous nine Premier League games for the Cottagers. But he was left out of the squad on Saturday against Crystal Palace. The 26-year-old will currently depart on a free transfer this summer after declining a new contract offer from Craven Cottage.

The ball-playing central defender has been linked to a number of clubs, including West Ham United, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur. However, according to Newcastle World, the Magpies are going to sign him.

Adarabioyo joined Fulham from Manchester City in 2020 and has since made 132 appearances, 78 of which have been in the Premier League.

Manager Marco Silva responded when asked over the weekend if Fulham supporters had seen the last of Adarabioyo.

“He can play. We have three games to play. if I decided he would be on the pitch he would be. It will be my decision always.

“I’m looking for the present. I want to win football matches and be as competitive as we can be. At the same time, we have to prepare for the future of the football club.”

Following ACL injuries to Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles, Newcastle have begun looking for a new central defender.

With the permanent arrival of Lewis Hall, Adarabioyo would be Newcastle’s second summer signing if the report proves to be accurate, which there is currently no assurance that it will.

Hall came to the Magpies on a season-long loan from Chelsea, with an initial £28 million buyout clause if specific performance targets were reached.
