Newcastle United 2-1 Bournemouth

Newcastle United fought back from a goal down to secure a 2-1 victory at home to Bournemouth, with Ciaran Clark poking home the winning goal. The Magpies named an unchanged XI to the one that started the 3-2 victory at West Ham last weekend, while Lewis Cook replaced the suspended Jefferson Lerma in the only alteration made by Cherries head coach Eddie Howe.
The hosts made the better start, before a clash between Jamaal Lascelles and Martin Dubravka caused a stoppage in play before both players were cleared to continue.
Ryan Fraser rifled a right-foot shot just over the crossbar and then saw Dubravka made a fine close-range block, while at the other end Aaron Ramsdale had to get down smartly to turn away a fizzing drive from Jetro Willems.
Thirteen minutes in the Cherries hit the front as a short corner routine left Harry Wilson unmarked ten yards out and he rifled the ball into the bottom corner of the net.
Lascelles then limped out of the game to be replaced by Paul Dummett, shortly after a Diego Rico drive came back off an upright.
The Magpies were also denied by the woodwork as Allan Saint-Maximin broke clear on the left side of the area, but flashed a shot against the crossbar when he should have buried an equaliser.
He made amends soon after as his cross-cum-shot landed on the head of DeAndre Yedlin, who could not miss from a couple of yards out, making the score 1-1 at half-time.
Early in the second half the game had been turned around completely, as the Cherries defence failed to deal with a Willems cross and Clark snuck in to poke the ball home from close range.
Ramsdale blocked a Joelinton effort to keep the visitors in the game on the hour mark, with the hosts then seeing Jose Almiron have a goalbound shot blocked by team-mate Saint-Maximin.
And right at the death the Magpies had a lucky escape as Josh King somehow headed wide from two yards out after a corner had ben flicked on to the far post.
