Newcastle United has been seeking for Dan Ashworth’s replacement for over six months, and they have finally found him.
Newcastle placed Ashworth on gardening leave in February after he declared his intention to join Manchester United.

After months of talks, Manchester United and Newcastle United reached an agreement on Ashworth last week, and he began work at Old Trafford on July 1st, with his replacement at St James’ Park confirmed just days later.
Paul Mitchell takes over at Newcastle United.
Paul Mitchell, the former Monaco manager, has been appointed to run the club.
In March, HITC exclusively disclosed that Mitchell wanted to replace Ashworth and was in talks about it.
Despite lengthy discussions with Mitchell, Newcastle originally looked elsewhere, attempting to acquire Crystal Palace’s Dougie Freedman, but he declined the opportunity to come to St James’ Park and signed a new contract in South London.
