It’s that time of year when Newcastle United’s new kit ‘leaks’ for the 2023-24 season circulate.
On social media, a reasonably plausible design has been circulating depicting a conventional black and white striped Newcastle shirt with a white Castore emblem and Saudia, Saudi Arabia’s flag carrier airline, as the primary sponsor. While the design appears legitimate, with close-ups and different perspectives of the garment offered, there is a lot of skepticism surrounding it.
And rightly so, as the ‘leaked’ uniform design is not Newcastle’s shirt for the 2023-24 season, according to The Gazette. The yet-to-be-released home jersey will not feature white sleeves, and a primary sponsor has yet to be announced.
The club is currently in talks with three corporations for a club record sponsorship deal worth approximately £25 million. Newcastle negotiated an early exit from their sponsorship arrangement with FUN88, but they are unable to do so with manufacturer Castore due to the inherent linkages built up as part of the deal.

Saudia has been mentioned as a possible Newcastle club sponsor due to their obvious ties to the club’s owners, the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund. The club even collaborated with Saudia on their December tour to Saudi Arabia. Riyadh Air, which was newly created, has also been touted as the team nears a large sponsorship agreement.
Earlier this month, The Gazette reported that Newcastle’s 2023-24 home kit will include white socks instead of the usual black and the shirt will feature a v-neck design similar to that seen in the leaked images.
