Manchester United are on red alert as Neymar is being advised to move on from the Barcelona by his inner entourage, according to reports in Spain.
It’s understood Jose Mourinho has been in regular contact with Neymar on the phone but the Red Devils would have to trigger the 25-year-old’s mammoth £195million release clause at the Nou Camp.
Catalan newspaper Sport suggest the Brazil superstar has grown ‘unsettled’ and ‘uncomfortable’ at Barca amid speculation United, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are on the hunt for a global icon.
It is claimed those close to Neymar have told the forward to seek a move to escape the shadow of Lionel Messi in Spain.
Neymar is yet to achieve his dream of winning the Ballon d’Or and it’s believed a move away from the Nou Camp could aid his bid for the prestigious prize.
The Brazil attacker recently claimed ‘anything can happen’ when joking about a potential move to Old Trafford.
‘Who knows what will happen tomorrow? I’m very happy for now, very well adjusted. But anything can happen, who knows,’ he said after the Neymar Jr’s Five event.
When asked if a United move could be on the cards, he replied: ‘Yes… or Eibar!’
