Barcelona forward Neymar has revealed he brought his parents a house when he started to make serious money from his football talents.
The 24-year-old, who netted a goal and assisted four others in Barcelona’s 7 -0 victory over Celtic in their opening Champions League group stage game, has become a key player for Barcelona with him penning a new five-year deal in July, which will see him at the club until 2021.
The club announced his buy-out clause was fixed at €220 million for the first year of his contract, which rises to €250 million for the last three years of his contract.
When asked to pick a stand out moment where Neymar felt he’d hit the big- time, he said, as reported by the club’s official website: “I think it was when I had made so much money from football that I was able to buy a house for my family. That’s when it really sank in. It was a really nice feeling.”
Neymar – who joined Barcelona in 2013 – won La Liga and Champions League titles with Luis Enrique’s side last term, as well as the Brazil international winning Olympic gold in his home country after beating Germany – who they lost out on the 2014 World Cup to – on penalties.
