Paris Saint-Germain attacker Neymar has reportedly been ruled out of the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 matchup with Bayern Munich due to an ankle injury.
The Brazil international had to be carried out on a stretcher following his team’s victory over Lille on Sunday.
Neymar clashed with Dogues player Benjamin Andre, rolling his ankle, and was carried off the field in tears as PSG won 4-3.
Les Parisiens stated after the game that Neymar suffered a sprained ankle, but the severity of his injury was not disclosed, and the club has not set a timeframe for his return.
But, according to Le Parisien, the Brazilian will be out for three to four weeks, leaving him out of the trip to the Allianz Arena on March 8.
Neymar did not receive any fractures in the collision, but having partially ripped the ligaments, he will miss important Ligue 1 matches against Marseille and Nantes this month, as well as bouts against Brest and Rennes in March.
Galtier’s team will head to the Allianz Arena on March 8 with a one-goal deficit from the first leg at the Parc des Princes, where Kingsley Coman scored the game’s only goal.

In addition to his ankle issues, Neymar missed two Champions League last-16 matches against Real Madrid and Manchester United in 2018 and 2019, respectively, due to foot fractures.
Les Parisiens were eliminated from the competition on both occasions without Neymar, losing 5-2 on aggregate to Real Madrid before Man United won their 2018-19 two-leg match on away goals.
Just before his injury, Neymar scored and set up Kylian Mbappe in Sunday’s win against Lille, bringing his season total to 18 goals and 17 assists from 29 appearances in all competitions.
