Nkunku aims barb at PSG

Midfielder Christopher Nkunku has taken a dig at former club Paris Saint-Germain and French football in general after his move to RB Leipzig. The 21-year-old came up through the PSG youth system and went on to make 78 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 giants, scoring 11 goals along the way.
However, with game-time diminishing in the French capital, the France Under-21 ace made the decision to move to the Bundesliga to see more action and it has proved to be a decent choice.
The talented youngster has scored four German top-flight goals from 10 appearances – four of which have been starts – to help Die Roten Bullen up to second spot in the standings, four points behind Bayern Munich.
He has been widely praised for his displays under Julian Nagelsmann and tipped to be a real star for the club.
Nkunku has been impressed with both the facilities at Leipzig and the standard of football in Germany’s top division – something he was keen to highlight in a thinly-veiled nod towards his former employers. “That made an impression on me as I saw the infrastructure first-hand,” he said. The number of pitches, even the quality of the changing rooms. “Paris Saint-Germain wants to construct a similar centre, I expect it’ll be much larger from what I’ve seen.”
The Parisians are in the process of updating their training facilities and, with the money available, it is likely they will be state of the art in the near future.
