Norwich City centre-back Timm Klose is confident he can return from injury before the end of the current campaign. The 31-year-old worked so hard to get Norwich into the Premier League, but he has yet to feature in the competition.
Klose missed the first three league games against Liverpool, Newcastle United and Chelsea before starting the Carabao Cup meeting with Crawley Town. The Switzerland international lasted just 27 minutes during the 1-0 defeat after suffering knee ligament damage in the game against the League Two outfit.
He has since been forced to watch the rest of the games from the sidelines, with Daniel Farke’s troops struggling at the moment.
The Canaries have only picked up seven points from their first 12 matches, and they are currently rock bottom of the table, five points from safety.
Farke has had to deal with several defensive injury problems so far, but Klose says he could still return before the season is out.
He told the Norwich football website: “I’m feeling well at the moment. I’m within the timeline and have reached all the goals so far. The next stage is to get rid of the brace and get the muscle mass back and then to start running. I’m very positive about everything. “I don’t want to put a date on when I’ll be back because that puts pressure on me, and supporters would stress out if I’m not fit when I said I would be. Let’s see how it develops, and hopefully, I can play some games this season.”
With some of Norwich’s squad away on international duty, Klose continues to work hard with the medical staff.
He will be hoping his team-mates can give themselves a chance of survival heading into the latter stages of the campaign and should he return, Klose could take on the likes of Watford, West Ham United, Chelsea, Burnley and Manchester City during the final five matches.
