Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has not spoken to Joao Felix regarding his future after the midfielder announced his desire to join Barcelona.
Joao Felix voiced this intention last month, but nothing more appears to have happened since then.
Simeone was hesitant to discuss Joao Felix’s predicament, but he made it plain that the forward’s level of effort for Atleti is acceptable to him.
“No, I am not going to talk more about Joao than what I have already said,” said Simeone.
“What he is giving us or gave us is what was seen [in terms of effort]. I don’t think he has held back any of what he was able to give. Just like I behaved with him trying to do my best to get something out of him.

“Possibly in his search he needs something more… and he and his agents and the club will decide.”
Asked why Felix publicly expressed his desire to join Barcelona, Simeone added: “As I always comment, the best way to know is when it is his turn to speak. He will know the reasons.”
Meanwhile, at Barca it is reportedly being said that they are considering getting Joao Felix on a loan deal since Ousmane Dembele’s departure.
President Laporta wishes to see Felix at Barcelona, however Xavi is said to be closed to the idea.
