Chelsea has chosen to abandon its pursuit of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and instead focus on Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion.
The Blues had been in constant contact with the Partenopei for some weeks, discussing a potential swap trade including Romelu Lukaku and a large sum of money. Negotiations were complicated and slow, causing some uneasiness in Campania.

Regardless of the Osimhen scenario, Napoli remains serious on signing Lukaku in order to keep new coach Antonio Conte happy, but they must sell the Nigerian striker before investing in a new center forward.
