Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen has reportedly chosen Paris Saint-Germain over Chelsea as transfer deal edges closer than ever.
Osimhen is a player that is still being linked to a move to Chelsea as Enzo Maresca attempts to bolster his team in preparation for the new season, which begins in a few weeks.
For a while now, Chelsea and the Napoli striker have been in contact. In his contract, which he signed little over six months ago, there is a £110 million release clause. Should he be allowed to depart this summer, Napoli will be entitled to receive the entire figure.
According to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, negotiations between PSG and Osimhen’s camp are progressing, and if a deal can be reached, the player is eager to join the Ligue 1 outfit.
If Osimhen’s own remarks from earlier this year are any indication, he would be amenable to moving to Stamford Bridge. Speaking back in January when representing Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations the striker told CBS Sports : “At the end of the season, I think I already made up my mind.
“I already know what I wanna do with my career, since I’ve started, I’ve been the one taking my own decision and everything is working out well for me. Even though when I started it, it didn’t go so well as planned.
“But I already have my plan, I already know what I want to do, the next step I want to take.
So for now I just want to finish the season strong, go relax somewhere with my daughter, and then finally come up with the decision I’ve already made.”
