Notable was Didier Deschamps’ selection of Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele after more than a year.
The 25-year-old hasn’t appeared for Les Bleus since suffering an injury in June of last year. The injury came in France’s stalemate with Hungary in the UEFA Euro 2020.
Although, the forward was back in form earlier this year, he had been overlooked by the French national team boss for a while.
Meanwhile, Dembele will be greatly boosted by the news of his France recall. He had previously expressed his ambition publicly to represent France at the 2022 World Cup.

“Yes, I hope I can be on the list, although it does not depend on me,” he said to Mundo Deportivo.
“I have to concentrate on playing well, doing my best at Barça and then the opportunity may come.”
Alongside Dembele, Barcelona teammate Jules Kounde, is also on the squad list released by the French national team.
France will play Austria and Denmark in the UEFA Nations League during the coming few weeks. The meetings will serve as preparation for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, which will begin in November.
