Former Liverpool and Man United striker, Michael Owen revealed Manchester United need just one signing to win the English Premier League title.
This season, Ten Hag has led the Red Devils to significant improvement. He took over a team that struggled to a sixth-place finish last season, and he has turned the club around for the better.
Indeed, during his first summer in control, the United manager was given funds up to £200 million to spend on new players.
And while expensive deals for Antony and Lisandro Martinez have raised some questions. The outcomes on the field have unquestionably justified his expenditure.
Manchester United have already won the Carabao Cup as a result of their improvements. If they go on to win the FA Cup and Europa League, their trophy collection might grow even further.
Because of how far they’ve come, some of their followers are already thinking about a title run for them come next season.
United are currently third in the Premier League, 15 points behind Arsenal despite having a game in hand.
What Did Owen Say About Manchester United?
According to Team Talk, Owen is still unsure if they can sufficiently reduce the deficit. He also points out that their playing squad is still not quite as good as teams like Arsenal and Man City.

“Manchester United are doing very well at the moment,” he said. “But when I watch them, I still don’t think, ‘oh my word, Manchester United are back… They’re tearing teams apart and winning easily’.
“But I think the actual playing staff is still some way short of being… put it this way, if the league was restarting today, I wouldn’t have Manchester United as being challengers to Arsenal and Manchester City just yet.
“I still think they need more in that squad. They’re desperate for a centre-forward. That is an absolute must for next season. I do think that Manchester United are still a few players short.
“I think their squad is getting better. As I say, Ten Hag is doing a very good job and he looks like he’s going to be the right man. But I do think they’re short on quality compared to the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City at the moment.”
