Mesut Ozil has reportedly signed a new mega-contract at Arsenal which will see him wear his favoured number 10 shirt, according to reports.
The German’s future had been in doubt with after delaying talks to extend his deal which expired in the summer of 2018.
But according to German publication Bild, Ozil has put speculation over his future to bed by penning a lucrative long-term contract although it is unclear how long for.
The 27-year-old was previously earning in the region of a staggering £140,000-a-week but it is believed his wage has further increased making him the highest paid player at the club.
Ozil will also be handed the number 10 shirt after Jack Wilshere left for Bournemouth on a season-long loan.
The playmaker made it no secret that he wanted his favoured shirt after his English teammate left for Eddie Howe’s side.
The Gunners will now be hoping they can tie down a deal to keep Alexis Sanchez at the club.
Sanchez’s current deal also expires in 2018 and Arsenal chiefs are worried that they may lose their key man for cheap if he continues to hold off signing a new contract.
