Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil is holding off signing a contract extension with the club until manager Arsene Wenger decides his future, according to reports.
The Gunners boss is in the final year of his contract at the Emirates Stadium, and recently celebrated an incredible 20 years in charge.
Still, Wenger may be tempted to call it a day at the end of this season, as he is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal being offered to him by Arsenal at the moment.
The north Londoners are also waiting for star players Ozil and Alexis Sanchez to commit their future to the club, but their manager’s situation may be causing uncertainty among the squad.
According to Goal, Ozil in particular is eager to wait and see what happens with Wenger before accepting Arsenal’s offer of a new contract to him.
The Germany international is not particularly motivated by a pay rise, but is understood to have close ties with the man who first persuaded him to move to Arsenal from Real Madrid back in 2013.
