Paul Pogba: Serie A Remains The Best League In The World

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has made a claim that the Premier League’s financial power is the only thing that makes it better than the Serie A.

In a lengthy interview with GQ Magazine, the France international discussed his return to the Allianz Stadium and vowed to “work hard” to get back on the field as soon as possible.

A four-year span between 2012 and 2016 saw the France international make 178 competitive appearances with Serie A powerhouse, Juventus, scoring 34 goals.

He then signed a €100m contract to join Manchester United, where he scored 39 goals in 233 games.

However, the 2018 France World Cup winner returned to Turin this summer, signing a four-year contract with the Bianconeri.

He had a meniscus injury in preseason and is yet to play his first competitive match for the team this season.

What Did Pogba Say About The Premier League And Serie A?

“This is a special shirt, it brings the best out of me. We’ve built a great story here and I’ve never forgotten this team, even when I was in Manchester.

“I’ve never had doubts that this was the place for me,” he said in his interview.

“Serie A is always among the most challenging leagues. The real difference with the Premier League is the economic power, but in terms of football, Italy remains among the best in the world in spite of everything.

“There isn’t much difference between Juventus and Manchester United. A top club is a top club. Juventus have always been the best in Italy,” he continued.

“Now they have even better training facilities, they have improved thanks to the same mentality. We always want to win and this will never change.”
