West Ham United midfielder Dimitri Payet has suggested that he is open to a move across London to Arsenal, saying he could have fun at the Emirates.
Payet has also recently implied that he would be open to a return to Marseille and could be contemplating a move in the near future given West Ham’s struggles this season.
The ex-Lille man has been quiet from open play this campaign, by his high standards, and hasn’t managed to be the flair player that provided everyone connected with West Ham with so inspiration last season.
Payet told RMC, as reported by Goal: “I read that Arsene Wenger considers me the missing piece of Arsenal’s game, but he’s never told me that! We conceded five or six at home against them. When you see them playing, as a technical player, you could only have fun in that team. They’re candidates for the title every year.”
Payet also went on to add that he misses competing in the Champions League and given that West Ham’s involvement in Europe’s top competition is realistically a distant dream, the Frenchman could consider a transfer in the future.
Payet, who earns £125,000-a-week (via Telegraph), has been a promising talent for so long now but hasn’t been in a top side that have the resources to challenge the rest of Europe’s biggest teams.
The France international has scored two goals, picked up four assists and created 61 chances so far this campaign.
