Diego Costa is happy at Chelsea and focused on winning the Premier League, according to team-mate Pedro.
Pedro, who is enjoying a long run in Antonio Conte’s starting lineup, held a private conversation with controversial striker Costa to settle speculation over a rumoured transfer to the Chinese Super League.
Costa, who was dropped by Conte for the win over Leicester City with some insiders suggesting the player had endured a training ground bust-up with fitness coach Julio Tous, returned to the starting lineup to score the opening goal against Hull in Chelsea’s last outing.
With talk over the opportunity to earn in excess of £500,000 per week in
China, Pedro explains how a heart-to-heart with Costa unearthed his desire tostay and focus at Stamford Bridge.
‘Did I speak to him? Yes and his focus is on the team, the game, this season to fight for this title. This ambition Diego shows is good for the team,’ Pedro said.
‘With the team he has been training very well. He is very happy to be here in the club, this is the most important thing,’ he added.
Chelsea face an away trip to Anfield to face Liverpool in their next Premier League fixture before taking on Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.
