Brazil legend Pele believes Tottenham Hotspur duo Harry Kane and Dele Alli are the stars of England’s “new generation”.
The Spurs duo have formed a prosperous relationship together at White Hart Lane this season and many would predict that they’ll both start for the Three Lions at this summer’s European Championship in France.
And Pele, who won three World Cups during his legendary career, believes Kane and Alli – who scored Spurs’ opener in the 3-0 victory over Manchester United this weekend – will be England stars for years to come.
“I travel so much, I don’t get the opportunity to watch too many Premier League matches,” Pele said, as reported by the Daily Mirror. “But I watch some of the big games, the highlights and always the best goals.
“Coutinho is a player that I follow, along with many other Brazilians that play in the league.
“Some young players like Harry Kane, Dele Alli represent the new generation for the England national team.”
Kane and Alli have been sensational for Spurs this season as the pair have combined excellently in the final third to help keep Mauricio Pochettino’s side in the hunt for the Premier League title.
The striker has scored 22 goals and currently sits top of the league’s scoring charts, just one ahead of Jamie Vardy, while Alli has hit the back of the net eight times and assisted nine too.
The Spurs duo aren’t the only young talents in the Premier League that Pele’s been keeping his eye on though, as he likes the look of Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho too.
