City play Everton in the early kickoff on Boxing Day, and they are coming off a 12-game winless streak.

The defending champs have appeared a ghost of their former selves, plagued by injury issues and an aging squad.

The loss of Ballon d’Or winner Rodri to a likely season-ending ACL tear has showed no signs of recovery, and Guardiola admits they want reinforcements.

Speaking to Amazon Prime Video Sport before of Thursday’s game, he stated, “We have to, if we can, add players definitely.”

I’m not sure whether it will happen, but we struggle, especially in the center and rear.

A day prior to his remarks, Guardiola had stated that Khaldoon Al Mubarak, the chairman of City, was providing him with unwavering support throughout the team’s worst run in twenty-one years.

City have dropped nine of their last 12 games in all competitions going into Thursday’s showdown at the Etihad, reports Daily Mail.

Guardiola, who inked a new deal last month, has spoken with Al Mubarak once a week about his personal part in the team’s decline.

“I feel so supported,” Guardiola remarked. We both understand that we will have to make decisions when anything goes wrong.
