Pep Guardiola has already been linked to a new midfield player, after Rodri hobbled off the field during Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Arsenal.
The Spain international is reportedly going to miss the rest of the 2024–25 season due to possible injury to his cruciate ligament.

This would seriously jeopardize Manchester City’s chances of winning anything this year.
Pep Guardiola is reportedly eager to sign Inter Milan’s Nicolo Barella.
The Italian news source estimates that the Inter Milan No. 23 is worth almost €80 million (£67 million) at the San Siro. Real Madrid and PSG are two other teams that are fans of the Italy international.
Nevertheless, Guardiola is eager to get the 27-year-old to the Etihad Stadium as soon as possible because he has “fallen in love” with Barella, whom he views as one of the world’s most complete midfielders.
In his four Serie A games this season, the Cagliari native has one goal and one assist, reports TBR Football.
Barella has a contract with Inter Milan through July 2029. Jurgen Klopp, who also thinks highly of the Italian, describes Barella as a “top class” football player.
Keep a watch on this issue, since after Rodri’s injury, Manchester City may try to sign the Inter Milan playmaker.
