Pep Guardiola Reveals Major Man City Injury Blow Ahead Of Liverpool Game

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that centre-back John Stones will be out for “two to three months” after limping off in the first half of Wednesday’s Champions League defeat.

Stones lasted only eight minutes of City’s 3-1 loss to Real Madrid in midweek, but that was enough time to see his centre-back partner Ruben Dias trip over his own shoelaces while Kylian Mbappe scored the first of his three goals.

In the absence of their unique but injured center-back, City did well to escape with a two-goal defeat.

As Guardiola bemoaned after the game, “They were the better team. You have to accept the reality.”

Pep Guardiola was also questioned about Erling Haaland, who watched the entire midweek match against Real Madrid from the bench.

“Don’t know yet,” he shrugged, thinking on his striker’s availability for this weekend’s crucial game.

“We’ll find out tomorrow, but I’m not sure.”

It would be preferable to have Erling on the field, but we don’t have him, and we are definitely stronger with Erling.”

It’s unclear whether Rodri will play any part in the rest of City’s Premier League season, but the talismanic holding midfielder has already stated that he hopes to return to action for the FIFA Club World Cup in June, reports 90 Min.
