After Manchester City defeated FC Copenhagen in the round of 16 of the Champions League, manager Pep Guardiola of the team blasted the media for the team’s hectic schedule. Furthermore, the Catalan says that if he has a grievance with the calendar, Sky Sports and TNT Sports just tell him to “shut up”.
With a 6-2 aggregate victory, the defending European champions easily made it to the quarterfinals. Guardiola’s club won 3-1 on Wednesday night thanks to goals from Erling Haaland, Manuel Akanji, and Julian Alvarez. This is their sixth season in the final eight of the league.

Guardiola hinted at his dissatisfaction with City’s schedule in his post-match comments. When asked if he made seven changes to his team with Sunday’s match at Anfield in mind, Guardiola replied: “I wanted fresh legs. If you have the info I had we had after the Manchester United game, you would understand the decisions of the team selection today.
And he told BBC Sport: “We arrived here from Barcelona and Bayern Munich, where the demand is to always be there. I felt the club – not the players – didn’t feel it. Managers and hierarchies don’t get time, but they gave us time to lose against Monaco [2017], against Liverpool [2018], against Tottenham [2019].
