Phil Foden of Manchester City has a good deal of knowledge regarding up-and-coming young football players because he was one himself.

At the age of 18, Foden scored for Man City in 2019, making him the youngest English player to score in the UEFA Champions League knockout stage.

After that, in 2021 and 2022, he was crowned Premier League Young Player of the Season. In 2024, he was named Player of the Season.

Foden has made more than 300 appearances for City and is a reliable starter for the team.

So which young football player does he currently most want to watch?

“There are so many talented players in world football right now,” Foden said on a show hosted by deaf people Rolf Choutan and Damaris Cooke, reports TNT Sports.

“I like Lamine Yamal, a winger for Barcelona. I like seeing him right now, and I think he is doing incredibly well for his age.”

The 17-year-old Yamal has had a tremendous year, starting for Barcelona on a regular basis and winning Young Player of the Tournament.
