Phil Foden Returns To Man City Training Ahead Of Bayern Munich Clash

Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden is back in first-team training ahead of his side’s Champions League quarter-final second leg against Bayern Munich.

Foden has missed Manchester City’s last four games since having his appendix removed at the end of March, but he could return against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

The midfielder last appeared in England’s win over Italy during the most recent international break, before being rushed to the hospital with appendicitis just days later.

Sky Sports News cameras were present as Foden returned to full training ahead of City’s match against Bayern Munich, where the Premier League champions lead 3-0.

Pep Guardiola’s side have been without just Foden in recent weeks, hinting that the manager may have a full squad to pick from at the Allianz Arena.

The 22-year-old played just 36 minutes in the last 16 against RB Leipzig, with Guardiola preferring Jack Grealish on the left flank.

Foden has been a key member of City’s team in recent seasons, but he will find it difficult to reintegrate into a club that has won 10 games in a row.

However, having Foden back as an option is an advantage for City, who could have 14 more games to play between now and the end of the season.

They meet Sheffield United in the FA Cup semi-finals on Saturday, followed by a vital top-of-the-table clash with Arsenal next Wednesday.

In Foden’s absence, City have shortened the gap on Arsenal, and are currently just four points behind Mikel Arteta’s squad with a game in hand.

As they pursue a fifth league title in six years, City needs to defeat Arsenal in order to keep the title in their control.
