Phil Neville has criticised Paul Pogba’s display in Manchester United’s defeat to Hull.
The Red Devils were beaten 2-1 at the KCOM Stadium but progressed to the EFL Cup final due to their first-leg success.
Pogba scored United’s goal but it was a disappointing performance from Jose Mourinho’s men as their 17-game unbeaten run came to an end.
Former United favourite Neville claimed the display was one of their worst under Mourinho with Pogba coming in for individual criticism.
“I thought he was like the rest of the Man United players, I thought he was very average,” Neville told Sky Sports.
“I thought it was a real poor performance from all of the United team. There wasn’t really a stand-out player in the United XI today and Pogba was part of that.
“It was probably the poorest I’ve seen Manchester United played this season.
“I thought they were lucky in the end.”
Pogba’s strike took him to seven goals for the season and despite his disappointing display, Neville suggested he was going some way to living up to his hefty price tag.
“He is going in the right direction. With lots of competitions he could finish the season with 12 or 13 goals.
“That is not a bad return in your first season.”
