Obafemi Martins has visited Demba Ba in hospital after the striker’s horrific injury this week.
The pair have been team-mates since Martins followed Ba to the Chinese Super League this summer and the former Newcastle striker was quick to deliver his sympathy.
Martins posted a picture of the visit to his personal Instagram page along with a message of good will for his fellow strike partner.
“Get well soon my brother,” Martins wrote.
Fans winced as the former Chelsea man suffered a severe leg break while playing in a local derby for Shanghai Shenhua at the weekend.
The incident came deep into the second half after the forward’s legs became tangled with an opposing defender.
The 31 year-old was subsequently rushed to hospital where he remained in excruciating pain behind despite receiving general anaesthetic.
The Senegalese international had scored 20 goals in 29 appearances throughout 2015 in China as the forward looked to have shaken off his difficult end to life in the Premier League at Chelsea.
Shenhua’s manager Gregorio Manzano assured that Ba would get the best possible medical support while the club’s president broke into tears following the devastating injury.
