In his ongoing dispute over LaLiga refereeing standards, Gerard Pique added more fuel to the fire after Barcelona’s draw at Villarreal suggesting that the two handballs by Bruno that were missed by the officials has given him more reasons to be critical.
The defender may already be in trouble for his last outburst and the powers that be are unlikely to be impressed by his latest tirade.
“There were two very clear handballs by Bruno,” Pique said.
“I have also seen Mascherano’s, but we speak of intentions.
“The referees? You saw it. Each week they give me more reasons.
“It’s very clear what has happened today on the pitch so there is no need to say anything else.”
Asked whether he felt that Villarreal were superior, Pique was adamant that they were not.
“We played a lot better than them but I think they are details to analyse later,” he continued.
Although Barcelona are now being written off as title contenders, the centre-back refused to give up.
“The league is not lost at all, I’m convinced we can turn this around and can win it, but we have to change things.”
