Bayer Leverkusen winger, Moussa Diaby is reportedly set to undergo medical examination at Aston Villa after he rejected the advances of Saudi-based club, Al-Nassr.
According to talkSPORT, Diaby rejected the chances of playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and favored a move to Villa Park.
Since joining Leverkusen in 2019 from Paris Saint-Germain for €15 million, the 24-year-old has been a revelation.
Diaby has scored 32 goals in 125 games for the Bundesliga club. And has made ten senior-level appearances for France.
After bringing in Youri Tielemans and Pau Torres, the winger will mark Villa’s third significant summer addition.
The Midlands club had their initial bid of £30 million plus add-ons turned down. And they were told to make a higher offer than £50 million.
With the fee in place, Diaby is on track to surpass Emi Buendia’s £38 million transfer from Norwich to Villa Park in 2021 as the club’s most expensive signing.
Diaby made an impression in the PSG’s academy while Unai Emery was in charge of the Ligue 1 champions for two years. And the Spanish boss is well aware of him.

When Villa begin their Europa Conference League campaign in the upcoming season, the Frenchman will have another opportunity to play in Europe.
Diaby was a member of the Leverkusen squad that advanced to the Europa League semifinals of the previous campaign. But they lost to Jose Mourinho’s Roma by a razor-thin margin.
