Manchester United star and the world’s most expensive player, Paul Pogba, has reportedly missed out on the 2016 FIFA FIFPro World 11 by just two votes.
Pogba became the world’s most expensive footballer when he rejoined the Red Devils in the summer for a mouthwatering £89 million fee.
The 23-year-old struggled initially to settle into life back in England, but has rediscovered his best form in recent months and is slowly replicating the performances he put on show during his time with Juventus.
However, it appears that despite winning Serie A and the Coppa Italia during 2016, the midfielder will not be named in the FIFA FIFPro World eleven later tonight.
The awards ceremony takes place in Zurich tonight, but Goal report that Pogba will not be named in the XI – which takes into account the best players from last year – after missing out on two votes.
Pogba will be hoping to prove those who did not vote for him wrong, by continuing to put in strong performances for Manchester United for the rest of the season.
