Paul Pogba believes he’s hit the bar more since joining Manchester United than he did in his four years as a Juventus player.
The France international has been extraordinarily unlucky not to add to his seven goals for the Red Devils, with an astonishing eight of his shots hitting the woodwork over the course of this season.
United could do with someone to take the pressure of leading scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic up front, and Pogba looks like being that player if he can just have a little more fortune in that department.
Pogba again failed to get on the scoresheet and had a header against the bar in the win over Saint-Etienne, and he admitted his problem was baffling him after the game.
‘I wanted to score,’ he said. ‘Then, after I didn’t score, I hit the crossbar like the other chances I’ve had.
At one point I thought “I don’t know what’s going on here, something must be going on!”
‘I think I’ve hit the bar more in eight months here than I did in four years at Juventus. It’s strange, but I’m still happy.’
