Pogba Set For Acting Career Following Four-Year Doping Ban

Paul Pogba has reportedly switched to acting as he serves his four year ban for failing doping tests.

The midfield star received the suspension back in February after testing positive for an illegal substance after a Juventus match in August last year. Pogba claims he did not deliberately take the substance and has appealed the ban to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

According to ESPN as claimed by The Mirror, Pogba has dabbled in acting while he waits for his appeal to be considered. The footballer is rumored to have spent this week filming sequences in Paris for the French movie 4 Zéros.

The film, which is scheduled for release in April next year, is a follow-up to the 2002 film 3 Zéros. Le Parisien, a French publication, reports that Pogba coaches youth football and quotes an insider saying he “amazed everyone” on set.

Pogba won’t be able to play football again until 2027 if the appeal of his doping ban is unsuccessful. In addition, he has promised to share his perspective once he is “free of legal restrictions”.

In a statement released after the ban was announced, Pogba said: ” I have today been informed of the Tribunale Nazionale Antidoping’s decision and believe that the verdict is incorrect.

“As a professional athlete I would never do anything to enhance my performance by using banned substances and have never disrespected or cheated fellow athletes and supporters of any of the teams I have played for, or against.”

After spending his second stint at Old Trafford, Pogba returned to Juventus in 2022 on a free transfer. The midfielder helped United in winning the League Cup and the Europa League.
