Manchester City completed the signing of former Barcelona midfielder Nico Gonzalez from Porto on deadline day for €60 million.
Barcelona did had a 40% sell-on clause for Nico, which meant they expected to get roughly €24 million from the move.
However, Porto has subsequently declared that there have been a few revisions to the agreement, which means Barcelona will receive significantly less than planned.

“FC Porto also informs that it has exercised in advance the option to purchase from Football Club Barcelona (” the Catalan team “) 20% of the capital gains on the transfer of the player, worth €3M (three million euros), retaining FC Barcelona’s right to only 20% of the capital gains on the transfer, also cancelling the buy-back option that FC Barcelona had on the player worth €30M (thirty million euros), exercisable until June 30, 2025.” According To Barca News.
All of this means that Barcelona will collect about €13 million from the agreement, which saw Nico sign a six-year contract with Pep Guardiola’s side.
