Postecoglou Provides Positive Injury News On Two Key Tottenham Players

Tottenham Hotspur manager, Ange Postecoglou anticipates Destiny Udogie and Pape Matar Sarr to be fit ahead of Friday night’s London derby against Crystal Palace at the Selhurst Park.

In Monday night’s 2-0 victory over Fulham, both players were substituted out in the second half due to discomfort. Midfielder Sarr was suffering from an illness, while left-back Udogie was experiencing some muscle soreness.

According to the Evening Standard, Postecoglou believes the two will be sufficiently fit to play on Friday at Selhurst Park.

Postecoglou said on Sarr: “He is OK. He was not 100 per cent well going into the game, he had an illness the last couple of days.

“But he was keen to give everything to start and I had a feeling he would last 60 or 70 minutes. It is a short turnaround to Friday but I am pretty confident he will be OK.”

On Udogie, Postecoglou said: “He felt a bit of tightness.

“Again, when we got the second goal with the short turnaround, we thought it was wise to take him off. Again, I do not think it is anything significant.”

Tottenham are currently top of the Premier League chart with 23 points after 9 games.

The win over Fulham ensured Postecoglou became the first manager in EPL to garner 23 points after their first nine games in the league. He broke Guus Hiddink’s record of 22 points for Chelsea in the 2008/09 season.

Following their clash against the Eagles on Friday, Spurs will yet again play another London derby when they lock horns with Chelsea at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
