Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, James Maddison has been named the EA SPORTS Premier League Player of the Month for the month of August.
This is the first time the 26-year-old will be earning the award, and it came just in his first month of footballing action for Spurs.
Since making the switch from Leicester City to Tottenham in the summer, Maddison has had an immediate impact. Producing a league-high three goal involvement in his new team’s unbeaten start to the league campaign.
“I’ve been nominated for the award a few times, so it’s a nice feeling to actually win it!” Maddison said.

“It’s never easy as a new player at a new club in the Premier League. So if you’d have offered me this at the start of the season, I’d have bitten your hand off!
“So many big names, elite players in the past and currently have won this award so it’s nice to be in that category. This award will sit nicely on the mantelpiece!”
Prior to scoring his first goal in a 2-0 victory at AFC Bournemouth, the England international earned his debut with two assists in a 2-2 draw at Brentford.

The 26-year-old, though, claims that his favorite moment of August was the 2-0 victory over Manchester United on his home bow. The game which was the only he did not score or provide an assist.
“I’d probably say none of the goals or assists, but walking out against Man Utd for the first home game.”
“I had goosebumps,” Maddison revealed.
