Premier League Boss Claims Foden Has ‘Potential To Be England’s Balon d’Or Winner In Future’

Brentford manager, Thomas Frank made a statement that Manchester City midfielder, Phil Foden is ‘the closest England get to a Ballon d’Or winner in the future.’

Before their Premier League match on Tuesday night, the Bees boss showered the City star with praise, stating that he “has the potential” to become the most recent Englishman to win the sought-after annual prize since 2001, when former Liverpool star, Michael Owen won it.

Foden has been playing well for City this season. In their most recent encounter, which took place at the beginning of February, he scored a hat-trick against Frank’s team.

According to Euro Sport, Frank made it plain that he thinks highly of the 23-year-old ahead of the return leg at the Etihad Stadium.

“Phil Foden is a very good player,” said Frank. “For me, he’s the closest England get to a Ballon d’Or winner in the future. I think he has that potential, that level.”
“He influences the game in so many ways,” Frank added.
“The last game he got on the end of three situations and scored three goals. He is very at good dribbling, very good at sliding people in.
“He works very hard. He seems to have a good mentality in terms of working hard. He is very good.”
Foden has continued where he left off in 2023–24, helping City win an unprecedented treble in the Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Champions League last season.

The adaptable offensive midfield player has made 37 appearances in all competitions, contributing 10 assists and 15 goals.
