Sheffield United manager, Chris Wilder has reportedly played down the importance of the on-field bust up between Vinicius Souza and Jack Robinson in the Blades’ 1-0 loss to Wolves on Sunday. He stated similar incidents ‘happen at every club behind closed doors’.
Replays of the game showed Vinicius approaching Robinson, his teammate, just before the two clashed and slapped each other in the 37th minute at Molineux, following Pablo Sarabia’s game-winning goal.
According to The Metro, before the fight got out of hand, players from both teams moved between Vinicius and Robinson. Referee Darren Bond employed the VAR to see any potential booking for the pair.
With just 13 points, Wilder’s struggling Blades are still at the bottom of the Premier League standings. While the hosts Wolves held on to win, their third win in four games.
“That happens at every club up and down the country, three or four times a year,’ Sheffield United manager Wilder told reporters shortly after the final whistle.
“Of course you can’t condone it, it has to stay at a level, we have a responsibility to the young kids out there playing.
“That happens behind closed doors at every level, at Manchester City and the bottom of League Two.
