Aston Villa are reportedly planning a move for Atletico Madrid forward, Joao Felix following the pending departure of Moussa Diaby to Al-Ittihad.
The Portuguese player spent time at Chelsea in the Premier League in the 2022–2023 season. With just four goals in 16 games, he fell short of the expectations placed on him.
Felix was linked to Aston Villa, Arsenal, and Manchester United prior to completing his move to Chelsea following his fallout with Diego Simeone, the head coach of Atletico Madrid.
The 24-year-old, who played on loan at FC Barcelona during the 2023–24 season, may not be with the Spanish giants permanently this summer, so his future is uncertain.
Felix has been touted with a switch back to Benfica in recent days, while Mikel Arteta has reportedly ‘ordered’ Arsenal to sign him.
Felix, however, might end up at Aston Villa, as The Sun claims they are “lining up” a move to “replace” Moussa Diaby, who is expected to sign a contract with Saudi Pro League team Al-Ittihad after a £60 million bid was accepted.

Al-Ittihad’s proposal was apparently too good to reject by Villa, although they might soon focus on acquiring Felix.
The Villans have been busy in the transfer market leading up to their Champions League return. They have added Philogene, Ross Barkley, Ian Maatsen, Cameron Archer, Enzo Barrenechea, Samuel Iling-Junior, and Lewis Dobbin. to their squad.
