Ipswich Town have reportedly approached Chelsea over the possibility of signing Carney Chukwuemeka in the January transfer window.
The Blues are currently in third place in the Premier League standings after a strong start to the season. Enzo Maresca’s side, however, are eager to build on their early success by adding more players in the next winter transfer window.
At the moment, Chelsea are trying to bolster their defense with a central defender said to be a priority for them. In order to make such a move, the club is prepared to let go of a number of players who have seen their value to the team decline under Maresca.
Chukwuemeka is one of those players, and according to TeamTalk, Ipswich are eager to bring the attacking midfielder to Portman Road.
The Tractor Boys are aware that a deal may be possible since Chelsea see the 21-year-old, who is rarely utilized, as a sellable asset.
According to sources, Ipswich are eager to have him join them and sought about the possibilities of a transfer in January.
Kieran McKenna’s side are currently in 17th place, one point outside the drop zone, and are fighting to stay in the division.
