The Premier League has issued a statement “strongly condemning” abuse directed at referee Michael Oliver following his decision to send off Myles Lewis-Skelly during Arsenal’s 1-0 victory against Wolves, while the PGMOL and police have launched an investigation.
Lewis-Skelly was sent off after catching Wolves’ Matt Doherty during a counter-attack, prompting outrage among Arsenal fans on social media.
Officials later confirmed he was sent off for “serious foul play,” with ex-referee Mike Dean alleging the 18-year-old caught Doherty with his studs down the back of his thigh.
Oliver has received threats and harassment after the event, and the Premier League has issued a statement condemning any violence.

Mikel Arteta stated he was “absolutely fuming” despite the fact that they won the game.
“It is that clear that I leave it to you guys,” Arteta told Sky Sports. “I am completely seething, but I will leave it with you. Because it is so evident. “I don’t think my words will help.”
