Premier League Legend Warns Everton Against Sacking Current Manager

The survival of Everton depends on Sean Dyche, and firing him “would be shooting themselves in the foot.” Dyche must remain. Pat Nevin, a former Blues star, claims as much.

Although The Blues still needs to win their first Premier League game of the season against Crystal Palace on Saturday, the former Scotland international winger feels Dyche has shown he is qualified for the position.

Dyche overcame the extraordinary pressure of two separate point deductions last season to record an on-field point total that would have tied 11th-place Brighton & Hove Albion if it weren’t for the sporting sanctions.

Even though they had lost their first five games that season, such accomplishments in 2023–2024 nevertheless happened, reports Echo.

Nevin, who scored 21 goals in 150 appearances for the Blues between 1988 and 1992, said to Jackpotjoy that he believed Everton might fire Sean Dyche quickly if things didn’t improve, which would be the biggest mistake they have made.

That’s saying a lot considering how many errors the team has made in the previous few years. In his short tenure at premier league team, Dyche has exceeded expectations beyond comprehension.

“Given the circumstances, I think Dyche might have won manager of the year last year. Despite everything working against the club, he performed incredibly well, but he overperformed.
