Manchester United lost 1-0 to Newcastle United at St. James’ Park on Saturday, suffering yet another setback.
According to Shoot, Eddie Howe’s team was able to move up to the top of the Premier League table thanks to Anthony Gordon’s goal in the second half, which gave the Magpies all three points.
The injury to Newcastle’s goalkeeper, Nick Pope, forced him off the field in the second half and Martin Dubravka, a former Man United loanee, took his place.
The North East club may consider replacing the England international, who is currently expected to be sidelined for a considerable amount of time, with a former Manchester United goalie.
David de Gea, a Spaniard, has reportedly been offered to Newcastle, according to 90min.
According to the report, the Magpies have received an offer from the 33-year-old free agent to fill in for Pope while he is away.
The Spaniard hasn’t had a club since leaving Manchester United at the end of the previous campaign, despite rumors that Saudi Arabian teams were interested in signing him during the most recent summer transfer window.
He played for over ten years at Old Trafford, appearing in 545 games in all competitions.
Despite the club’s initial offer of a contract extension that was later withdrawn, he was free to leave when his contract expired this summer.

According to reports, Newcastle is thinking about signing De Gea, who is expected to demand a large salary and was reportedly among the highest earners in the Premier League while playing for Manchester United.
Dubravka will serve as the injured Pope’s stand-in until his anticipated return in April of next year.
