Premier League clubs, Liverpool, Newcastle United and West Ham United have reportedly made contact with Bologna for the signature of Riccardo Calafiori.
According to Hard Tackle, the 22-year-old is attracting interest from the three English sides. And Bologna are fighting hard to hang onto him past the summer transfer deadline.
Calafiori, 22, who moved from FC Basel to Bologna last summer, is developing quickly. It took the Italian defensive prospect some time to become well-known.
Even after graduating from AS Roma’s youth level, he was unable to light up the stage. He was able to establish some stability during his time with FC Basel, which helped him flourish at Bologna FC.
The Italy international has made 33 appearances for Bologna so far, contributing two goals and five assists. In addition to earning his debut for the Italian national team, his achievements for the Rossoblu helped the team qualify for the UEFA Champions League. The young central defender also began the opening game of the Azzurri’s UEFA Euro 2024 campaign against Albania.
Calafiori’s development at the Serie A team, however, has not gone unnoticed, drawing interest from a number of illustrious clubs throughout Europe, particularly those in the Premier League.
